Windows 11 Installation has Failed? Here’s How to Fix This

You just need Windows 11 installation media and a computer device that meets all your hardware needs. However, you may face some problem sometime. Here, we are going to explain to you how to fix this problem without uninstalling Windows 11.

What are the Basic Hardware Requirements? 

Windows 11 has different installation requirements. If you were able to run Windows 10, then you may not be able to run Windows 11. To ensure that you don't come across any issues, it is recommended to check official Windows 11 requirements before you upgrade.

The hardware requirements may be different and it requires a TPM 2.0 chip, that older computer models don't have. If your computer meets all Windows 11 requirements, then make sure that the upgrade process gets completed smoothly without any problems. 

How to Fix Windows 11 Installation Problems? 

1) Turn on TPM in BIOS

Step 1: First of all, access UEFI/BIOS on your computer. The process is completely different for every manufacturer but you need to press the F(function key on your keyboard before starting the OS. 

Step 2: After that, visit the Security section. 

Step 3: Search for the TPM  option and then turn it on. 

Step 4: After that, you need to save the changes made recently. Just press the F10 key to save and exit. You must not forget the process is different for every motherboard model and BIOS version.  

Therefore, you must check the motherboard manual and read out the instructions. You need to turn on TPM 2.0 to install Windows 11. There is a chance that TPM 2.0 errors are causing installation problems. 

2) Turn on the Security Boot Option

Below are the steps that you need to follow to turn on the secure boot option. 

Step 1: Open the Start menu and then select Settings. 

Step 2: Select the option of Update and Security. 

Step 3: Choose the Recovery option by going to the left pane and then select the Restart Now button. 

Step 4: When the boot option appears before you, click on Troubleshoot. 

Step 5: After that, select Advanced options. 

Step 6: Select UEFI Firmware settings option.

Step 7: Once your PC goes into BIOS mode, select Security and then choose Secure Boot option. 

Step 8: Then, move the Secure boot option to the right to turn it on. After that, accept the changes appearing before you. 

Step 9: Save the changes and then close the BIOS by pressing F10 on your keyboard.

3) Bypass TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot

Below are the steps that you need to follow to bypass TPM 2.0 and secure boot. 

Step 1: Press the Windows key and R key simultaneously to launch Run and then type regedit and then press the Enter key.  

Step 2: After that, go to the registry path 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup

Step 3: Now, go to the empty space on the right side and the right-click on it. After that, click on New and then select Key, then give it the name LabConfig. 

Step 4: Select the new LabConfig key and then right-click on the blank space for creating two DWORD Value option and then name them BypassSecureBootCheck and BypassTPMCheck. 

Step 5: Double-click on every new item one by one and then click on the Decimal base. After that, enter 1 in the Value Data field and then select OK. 

Step 6: Close the Registry Editor and then restart your computer. Now, try to install Windows one more time.
